McPherson College is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered Assistant Professor of Exercise Science to join its Health & Sport Studies Department. This is a full-time, tenure-track, benefits-eligible position with an anticipated start date of January or August 2027.
The role combines two core responsibilities: teaching 21 credit hours per academic year within the Exercise Science major (while leading the department's CSCS exam preparation program), and providing strength and conditioning oversight for select McPherson College athletic teams. The Bulldogs compete in the NAIA Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) across 18 varsity sports.
Primary teaching responsibilities include courses in Strength and Conditioning, Biomechanics, Personal & Group Exercise Training, and Fitness Assessment & Prescription. The successful candidate will also maintain regular office hours, advise Exercise Science majors, support undergraduate research and applied learning opportunities, assist with student recruiting, and contribute to departmental and college governance.
Faculty will work in newly renovated lab and classroom spaces (a recent $700,000+ investment) featuring modern physiology, human performance, and strength & conditioning equipment.
